Automobile Industry - (Volume II) - February 2005

The Auto Workshop that provides mechanical and denting and painting services follows a basic process flow.
The diagram - 1 illustrates the basic process flow for mechanical repairs. The customer comes in with the mechanical problem wherein a job card is prepared based on the problems faced by the customer. The foreman then checks the car to check for any additional problems. The customer is then provided with time and cost estimates depending on the whether the parts need to be repaired or replaced. On agreement of the customer the job is allocated by the foreman. It is necessary to test run the car before it is finally delivered to the client.

Automobile Industry - (Volume I) - February 2005

Pakistan's automobile industry is expected to contribute Rs 94.95 billion annually to the exchequer by 2012 as it gradually expands its production capacity from the existing 168,000 units to 503,000 units in seven years. At present, its contribution to the treasury stands at Rs 26.1 billion.
The existing production capacity of the automobile sector is 168,000 units per year. Suzuki 80,000 units, Dewan 15,000 units, Honda 30,000 units, Nissan 6,000 units and Indus Motors 37,000 units. It is projected that by 2012 Suzuki will be producing 250,000 units, Dewan 48,000 units, Honda 60,000 units, Nissan 15,000 units and Indus Motors 130,000 units, two shifts per day.
