Introduction

Application must be filed in duplicate along with 3 copies of recent passport size photographs. Passport is needed. Photocopy of application form or form downloaded from the Internet will be accepted provided it contains all the information as printed in the original form.

General Visa Requirements

  • Business visa: A letter from the sponsoring organisation in UK highlighting the financial coverage of the applicant for the trip along with another letter of invitation from Bangladeshi organisation mentioning the applicant's name and passport number should be furnished with the visa application form.
  • Tourist visa: A letter of invitation (original, in letter head) from the concerned Bangladesh organisation or in case of personal invitation, bank statement of the concerned Bangladesh national along with the invitation letter will be required. The address and telephone number of the person inviting the applicant must be mentioned in the invitation letter.
  • For any other category of visa relevant supporting papers should be submitted along with the visa application form.
  • Note:
  • Documentary evidence of identification in support of profession is a must
  • Incomplete application form or application with incorrect information/insufficient supporting papers will be rejected without citing any reason.

Tourist Visa

  1. Fill-in visa application form and Passport.
  2. Visa fees (Cash, if applied in person) / Postal Order (if applied by post).
  3. Three passport size recent photographs.
  4. Printed itinerary, if any.
  5. Invitation letter from Bangladesh/Hotel reservation letter. The invitation letter should be on a letterhead. In case of personal invitation the person who is inviting the applicant should attach his or her Bank statement.
  6. Letter from the employer confirming the applicant's identity/position in the company/Organisation.
  7. Self-addressed pre-paid registered envelope or return pre-paid courier (if applied by post).

Business Visa

  4. Invitation letter from any Business Organisation from Bangladesh
  5. Letter from the employer confirming the applicant's identity/position in the company/Organisation.
  6. Self-addressed pre-paid registered envelope or pre-paid return courier (if applied by post).

Journalist visa

Visa processing time for journalists would be 3 weeks. Journalists who intend to visit Bangladesh may wish to contact the Press Wing of this High Commission for further information

Visa Fees

For applicants holding UK passport:

  • Single entry (Max. 3 months): £40
  • Double entries (Max. 6 months): £52
  • Multiple with 3 entries (Max. 6 months): £75
  • Multiple with 4 entries (Max. 1 year): £104

Please pay the visa fees in cash at the counter of the consular of Bangladesh High Commission. Those who are applying by mail are advised to send postal order / bank draft payable to BHC, a stamped self addressed recorded delivery envelope and other necessary documents along with the application.
